Edward VIII First Day Cover
On 14 September 2016, The Postal Museum will issue a commemorative Post & Go overprint remembering the 10 month reign of King Edward VIII in 1936, the year of the three kings. In addition to our logo, the overprint will feature a graphic illustration of the royal cipher for Edward VIII, as designed by him and used on royal household mail, as well as the text ‘King Edward VIII 1936’. The Postal Museum have collaborated with Blake, the leading supplier of envelopes and paper products in the UK to create exclusive designs.
The first day cover design features an Edward VIII pillar box and a photograph used in the stamp design. There is a First Class and Second class stamp, cancelled with our official handstamp. An insert gives more information.
