Limited Edition David Gentleman Mail Rail Print

These sketches of the historic Mail Rail tunnels were made by renowned artist David Gentleman in 2015 ahead of the tunnels' reopening as part of The Postal Museum.

Since 1962, Gentleman has made his mark on postal history with over 100 stamps issued. It was at Gentleman’s suggestion that the original portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Dorothy Wilding was replaced with a smaller silhouette, revolutionising stamp design. His designs have elegantly shrunk monumental historical events down to fit on the corner of an envelope, and in 2022, his contributions were honoured with a special stamp issue.

Thanks to David Gentleman’s generous donation, all profits from this rare print go towards helping The Postal Museum to tell the story of postal communication and to inspire future generations.

Prices of the artwork are liable to change. As a limited edition sells out, prices of the artwork are subject to increase, and the price will be clearly indicated.
