Mail Rail was the world’s first driverless, electric, underground railway, engineered by The General Post Office, running for 76 years. The track spanned 6.5 miles from Whitechapel to Paddington, 70 ft below London. The Greenbat locomotive held around 4 million letters a day and was 1 of 3 different types of locomotives.
